Welcome to HOPE.wrx
Our Purpose: To be the face of compassion and hope in our Northland neighborhood.
Our Vision: A just and equitable Inner Northland.
Our Mission: To provide programming and facilities to fill the unmet social, economic, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of people in the Inner Northland neighborhoods—transforming individuals, families, institutions and ourselves by connecting assets with opportunities.
How you can help:
HOPE.wrx is a charitable non-profit organization. We rely upon the donations of food, gently used coats and the contributions of monetary giving to support our mission.
You can help us meet our vision by donating your time, your money or your extra food purchases. Please refer to links above for details about our goals and our current needs.
In 2017, HOPEwrx served 832 more individuals than in 2016! Our Northland neighbors need us more than ever.
Beginning in August 2017, HOPE.wrx partnered with Harvesters on the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). This program provides commodity items to lower income seniors over the age of 60. We current have 25 seniors receiving commodity boxes each month.
CSFP is a monthly food program through the United States Department of Agriculture that targets senior citizens age 60 and above with income at or below 130% of the federal poverty level. Applicants must provide proof of age and income.
The monthly box of food includes: 4 cans of vegetables, 2 cans of fruit, 2 cartons of shelf-stable milk, 2 bottles of juice, 2 boxes of cereal, 1 can of protein, 1 jar peanut butter or bag of beans, pasta and a two lb. block of cheese.
Special “THANK YOU” to the students of Northgate Middle School for their tremendous food drive. The drive resulted in almost 900 pounds of food for those visiting our pantry.
